Meeting was called to order by the General Chair at 7:42 p.m.

• Reminder: Next month is the bid meeting. Please remember that according to USA-Swimming Rules & Regulations, meets cannot be sanctioned if the host team has not submitted financial forms (Page 1 & 2) for previously hosted meets. Sheryl has a list in the office.
• MSI may decide to honor a member with a USA-Swimming life membership presented at the USA-Swimming membership. If you have any recommendations about this, please get in touch with me.

Opened the possibility that MSI award a “Coach of the Year” for the American Swimming Coaches Association if the Minnesota Chapter of ASCA is not going to present its own award. Paul will talk with M-ASCA President when he returns from out-of-town.

• There will be a national survey on pools where meets are hosted.
• The LSC will host a Risk Management workshop in the fall, date TBA.

Officials Committee Chair: Michael Bougie

· There are a total of 122 Officials: Certified Referees: 37; Certified Starters: 17; and Stroke and Turn: 68.

· BAC appeared to ask that the fine levied against them withdrawn. The fine was levied due to a lack of proper number of officials during the meet hosted on June 8 – 9. No motion was made so no action was taken.

Legislative Chair: Betsey Aby Not Present / No Report

Adapted Swimming Chair: Marlene Goblish

• Four swimmers competed at the National Disability Championships held in Federal Way, WA
• Judy Mielke (FAR), Justin Zook (M3F), Sarah Galbrecht (NLA), and Anessa Kemna (UNA).
• Each swimmer earned a medal in at least one event. Zook and Kemna took Gold!
• Zook set two American Records.
• Special Thanks to Rick Biggs and Mike Bougie who both officiated.

Orca Sanction Issue re: December B/C Meet (Tabled at February 19, 2002)

Motion made by Dennis Dale. To respond to Orcas request for reimbursement of meet fees of their own swimmers, not the visiting swimmers, in the amount of $635.00 that relates to their December 2001 B/C Meet. Seconded. Passed, Unanimous.
